Enlightened, Inc. Receives Prestigious 2016 Nunn-Perry Award From The U.S. Department Of Defense
WASHINGTON (August 24): Enlightened, Inc. (“Enlightened”) and its protégé JASINT Consulting and Technologies, LLC. (“JASINT”) have been awarded the prestigious 2016 Nunn-Perry Award by the DoD. The award recognizes successful business mentor-protégé teams that excel in protégé development in the areas of technical assistance, business development, infrastructure enhancement and ultimately, return on investment for the DoD. Enlightened is a HUBZone certified small business specializing in cyber security, software development and integration, and management consulting services.
JASINT is a Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) specializing in cyber security, cross domain solutions, software development, systems engineering and virtualization. The Enlightened-JASINT Mentor-Protégé agreement was awarded through the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). Enlightened is one of a few small business mentors in the DoD’s Mentor Protégé Program nationwide and are proud to have been nominated for this award by NGA.
Developmental assistance provided to JASINT included a cyber security lab which supports the DoD, NGA and intelligence community (IC) with enhanced capability and capacity to defend priority DoD networks and support joint warfighting requirements in Cyberspace. In addition, Enlightened provided business infrastructure training that involved business development, proposals, finance and customer service. Morehouse College, a Historically Black College and University (HBCU), is also a part of the mentor-protégé team providing additional support in Capability Maturity Model Integration.
Since 1995, the Nunn-Perry awards have recognized outstanding DoD Mentor Protégé teams formed under the auspices of the DoD Mentor-Protégé Program (MPP). The Nunn Perry award is named in honor of former Senator Sam Nunn and former Secretary of Defense William Perry. The DoD Mentor-Protégé Program’s primary goal is to positively impact the growth and capability of the defense industry base through partnerships between major defense industry contractors and innovative small businesses.

The contract, with the DoD’s Washington Headquarters Services, for parking lot management services opened an entirely new division at JASINT called Infrastructure Solutions (IFS). We also greatly appreciate the mentorship support and leadership of DXC Technology,” said Antwanye Ford, President & CEO.
